This is still one of my favorite gifts I've made for someone. My manager and I share a mutual love for Dr. Who so I thought this would be awesome. Hand drawn & painted with watercolors.. kindergarten style.

I should win an award for procrastination.
Hahaha, so what a joke my last update was. "Yeah, I'm going to keep up with this blog now!" .......... 8 months later, here I am! ....... Oops... At first, for whatever reason, I was thinking I needed to strictly keep this blog for my finished furniture. I'm not sure where that rule came from, but it obviously didn't work for me. So I'm scratching that rule. New rule: There are no rules. Update when I want about whatever I want. I'm sure it will mainly pertain to crafting in some way... or procrastinating. :)
While we're on the topic of procrastinating.. I've recently realized that my procrastination stems from a fear of failure and self doubt. Once I finish a piece, I feel like it is so final and for some reason that is scary. Maybe it is because it won't be perfect. Maybe it is because it gives people the right to judge it and I believe it will be negative. Whatever the reason, I have been trying to overcome this. It is difficult & something I'm not sure if I'll ever be completely over. I'm trying to do the things that I love, enjoy the process, and become somewhat detached from the results. I'm realizing that I will fail and from this I will learn lessons and grow. It's funny because it's really all just in my head. There really is nothing stopping me. This information is liberating yet frightening.
Now, onto some photos of a commissioned bedroom set I did for a client way back in October '12.
